Artist Spotlight: Duckzzy

When you first meet Duckzzy you can't help but be hooked by the energy. I submitted a post asking for possible Solana NFT characters I could recreate in my style for an upcoming drop, and Duckzzy jumped into the comments. Once I saw the pixel ducks, learnt about their immortal powers, and felt Duckzzy's personality, I was ready to jump in and collaborate. It felt like a no-brainer to me, and then I saw Duckzzy painting style, and I was blown away.

Duckzzy is a full-time artist from Indonesia; who creates pixel art on the mobile phone; relishing in the gorey yet cute Duckzzy's work has a way of captivating you into an endless loop.

Today, we learn a little about Duckzzy; without further ado, let's jump in.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I'm a full-time artist; I create paintings and pixel arts; most of my pixel arts were made on my mobile phone.

2. How do you get into your creative zone?

Watching movies or anime, listening to music or getting enough sleep. But what triggers my lazy brain to get the brightest ideas is when I'm on the toilet; most of my pieces were made there.

3. When in the flow, what does your process look like?

Trial and error. I create frames of animation, putting some elements on it, and if it doesn't work, I'll leave it for a day, come back later and put something new till I see it fits.

4. Tell us about your Esther piece?

She's a collaborator piece with my Duckzzy Origins. I don't have any plans for her superpower, sometimes, it comes suddenly without planning, and that's what I love about creating my pieces; I never plan how it will turn out.

5. What are you most excited about in web3?

With the ability to keep our artworks on the blockchain, we could create a legacy for the future as long as the blockchain stays running. Therefore our name will be remembered.

6. What's the most significant learning experience you've had in web3?

Minting and listing the hash list and where they're syncing around the different platforms is crazy. My mind was blown the first time I realized how it works.

I am so happy to have been able to collaborate with Duckzzy, it's been a pleasure to get to know you over this time, and I cannot wait to continue our collaborations into the future. Check out Duckzzy on Twitter.
