Hi, I am Luke Farrugia; I'm a lifelong learner, an observer and a creator. Thereby I pay close attention, soak in the details and try to playback what I learn in a way that I creatively understand. Breaking it down slightly further, my ability to keenly observe lends to my experience design side, while my creator side helps me hone my design eye.
I'm a family man, a father of 2, Ava~cardo & Dino~del. They have helped me sharpen my skills, find my creative purpose and develop my style. They remind me that I'm a kid who got lost in the rat race, and now, I'm back to being myself and am all about the art of play.
On the creative side, I've been a designer for over 10 years, starting my studies in interior design; I'm obsessed with shape, shadows and the forms they make. I swiftly shifted to communication design once I realised my horrible math wouldn't lead me to my architectural goals.
Communication design is my jam... now. At the start, in my first paid job, I was horrible & was fired in my first year. Even with this knock, I always dreamed of becoming a graphic designer.
I found my place in UI design professionally, leading to UX and research. This is where I found my design freedom; nothing had to be final; I could iterate over time. In this space, I've held roles from junior to design director (I honestly preferred being a junior).
Now, my design skills match my hustle, ambition and drive. I've found my creative identity and am so thankful to share that process through Esther.
