Artist Spotlight: Hipocreate
Let's take a moment to spotlight Hipocreate, an uber-talented artist from Indonesia. I remember the first time seeing one of Hipocreate animations; it made me feel uneasy, intrigued and captured by the subtle loop movements. In more recent times, it's been phenomenal to see the latest works; the way shapes take form through lines is inspiring and so distinctly Hipocreate.
We've been collaborating on a few pieces, and I love how Esther fits into this new world; and I must say, Esther looks badass in these pieces.
Let's take some time to get to know Hipocreate.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I'm Hipocreate; I'm an artist and very dependent on the life of NFT; I do line work to create a repetitive aesthetic. I'm from Indonesia, and I really like this job; I'm a dreamer with a lot of hope to improve my life.
2. How do you get into your creative zone?
Dreamer, seeking awareness of future life, this gets me into the zone to create.
3. When in the flow, what does your process look like?
I see this world as magical and mysterious, connecting the real world and a creative one.
4. Tell us about your Esther piece?
A response to the iconic character, namely Esther. She is very easy to remember; I tried to experiment with combining superhero characters to achieve a storyline that connects to the story I have made, namely the story of Asep the hero. You can see him in the Asep hero series, where the story continues; I responded to Esther because I believe the icon will be memorable and extraordinary when put together with the character Asep.
5. What are you most excited about in web3?
A place of time travel through imagination and creativity.
6. What's the most significant learning experience you've had in web3?
I'm proud of this space as work can be more highly valued. I hope this web3 continues into the future until humans accept their right to express themselves creatively and freely.
Thank you, Hipocreate, for taking the time and care to express yourself with Esther and incorporate her into your story. Esther and I are honoured to have been able to collaborate with you. To keep up to date with Hipocreate, come along to Twitter and say hello.
